Meatloaf Plank


Serves: up to 10

Prep Time: 20 minutes
Marinade Time: 20 - 30 minutes
Cooking Method: Indirect Direct Medium-Low Heat (275– 325 F)
Grilling Time: 50-60 minutes

Additional Tools: Primal Grilling Cedar Plank Soaked in water for at least 1 hour

1 1/4 LB OF GROUND BEEF
1 1/4 LB OF GROUND PORK
2 CUPS OF PANKO BREAD CRUMBS
1 CUP OF FINELY CHOPPED SWEET VADALION ONION
1 LARGE EGG
1 TABLESPOON WORCESTERSHIRE SAUCE
1 TESPOON GARLIC POWDER
1 TEASPOON DRIED TERRAGON
1 TEASPOON CELTIC SALT
1 TEASPOON FRESHLY GROUND PEPPER
1 cup of your favorite BBQ sauce

INSTRUCTIONS:

1. MAKE SURE YOUR PLANK IS ALREADY SOAKING. 1 HOUR IS WILL WORK, BUT 2 HOURS OR MORE IS PREFERRED

2. START BY ADDING ALL INGREDIENTS EXCEPT THE BBQ SAUCE IN A LARGE BOWL

3.NOW ROLL UP YOUR SLEEVES AND GENTLY COMBINED THE INGREDIENTS TOGETHER WITH YOUR HANDS

4. TRANSFER THE MIXED BALL OF MEAT TO A COOKING SHEET AND FORM 2 EVEN LOAFS ABOUT 7 INCHES LONG AND 4 INCHES WIDE

5. PREPARE THE GRILL FOR INDIRECT COOKING AT MEDIUM-LOW HEAT

6. USING A BRUSH OR THE BACK SIDE OF A SPOON COVER BOTH LOAFS WITH YOUR BBQ SAUCE

7.WITH THE LID CLOSED, PREHEAT YOUR PLANK FOR 3 MINUTES. AFTER 3 MINUTES FLIP THE PLANK OVER STILL POSITIONED DIRECTLY OVER THE FIRE.

8. USING A SPATULA PICK UP EACH LOAF AND PLACE DIAGONALLY ON THE PRIMAL GRILLING PLANK SO THAT BOTH LOAFS FIT EVENLY ON THE PLANK

9. CLOSE THE LID AND KEEP IT CLOSED AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE, ONLY OPENING TO CHECK THE PLANK IS NOT FLARING UP. SET YOUR TIMER FOR 60 MINUTES AND AT THE 45 MINUTE MARK GO AHEAD AND USE A THERMOMETER TO CHECK THE CENTER TEMPERATURE. YOU SHOULD COOK YOUR LOAF TO 155 F APPROXIMATELY 50-50 MINUTES BEFORE REMOVING FROM THE GRILL AND ALLOWING IT TO REST FOR ANOTHER 10-15 MINUTES. DURING THIS TIME THE LOAFS TEMP WILL RISE ANOTHER 5 DEGREES TO 160, THE RECOMMEND TEMP FOR BEEF AND PORK, CUT THE LOAFS INTO SLICES OF A THICKNESS OF YOUR CHOICE AND ENJOY! SERVE ON THE GRILLING PLANK FOR A TOP CHEF PRESENTATION, AND TO ADD A BEAUTIFUL AROMA TO YOUR DINNER TABLE. GARNISH WITH TARRAGON AND ENJOY!
